IBC Inspection according to ADR – safe, reliable, compliant

For the transport and storage of hazardous goods, clear legal requirements apply across Europe. According to ADR 6.5.4.4.1 b, Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) must be inspected by an accredited testing body every 2.5 years. CONTEK is your officially approved inspection body I & II for metallic large packaging of types 11A, 31A and 21A – with inspections carried out either on-site at your facility or in our own testing center.

Our Services: Inspection, Testing and Repair from a Single Source

As an authorized inspection body, we carry out all legally required tests in accordance with ADR/RID and the IMDG Code. These include in particular:

  • Periodic inspections according to 6.5.4.4.1 b) ADR/RID and 6.5.4.4.1.2 IMDG Code as well as BAM-GGR 002

  • Leakproofness tests in accordance with 6.5.4.4.2 b) ADR/RID and 6.5.4.4.2 (b) IMDG Code

  • Testing of all IBC types specified in the approval

Our special advantage: We operate independently – no in-house personnel are required on your side. This helps you avoid unnecessary effort and benefit from a lean, efficient process. All we need is a forklift truck and compressed air.

Direct Repairs Reduce Inspection Downtime

We make sure your hazardous goods containers are quickly back in operation: Minor defects and typical signs of wear are fixed directly during the inspection.
This reduces the rate of inspection failures and minimizes your downtime. Required spare parts are kept in stock and brought along when we perform on-site inspections.

Expertise & Experience: We Know Every Container Type

For decades, we have been servicing IBC systems of all generations. Our inspection and repair expertise covers both current and older designs, specific spare parts, and a wide range of approval requirements. As a recognized manufacturing company, we are also authorized to carry out extensive repairs – with competence, full documentation, and in full compliance with safety regulations.

Why Regular IBC Inspections Are Essential

  • Legal obligation under ADR and BAM GGR 002 (every 2.5 years)
  • Prevention of safety risks and transport damage
  • Extension of your containers’ service life
  • Maintenance of approval and legal compliance
  • Protection of the environment, personnel, and material
